FAQs

What are purlins and girts used for?

Purlins run horizontally along roofs and walls to distribute weight and support roofing materials. Girts provide lateral support and a surface for attaching wall cladding and insulation. Both are vital role in ensuring structural integrity for steel structures.

Are purlins and girts custom rolled?

Absolutely. We custom roll purlins and girt to suit your needs and to help you minimise waste on-site. Alternatively, we carry stock lengths in various sizes for urgent situations.

What is the difference between a C purlin and Z purlin?

Both provide structural support in construction. C purlins are mainly used for roofing in single, non-continuous span construction. While Z purlins, are use in a broader range of applications, including roofing, wall cladding, portal frames, single bay buildings and various unlapped and lapped continuous span configurations.

Do our sections comply with Australian Standards?
